bioprinting

bioprinting [ENGLISH]

Controlled deposition of biological materials, such as living cells and biomaterials, for the production of more complex biological structures. 2D bioprinting: use of specific printing technologies to deposit and organize living cells in a monolayer. 3D bioprinting: use of additive manufacturing technology to precisely deposit layers of cells, biomaterials and supporting components, in order to construct complex 3D structures that mimic the behavior of natural living systems. 4D bioprinting: creation of patterned biological structures specifically engineered to respond in different ways according to user demands or different stimuli over time, such as a changing environment.
