History

History

ATMP Sweden was established in 2018, emerging from the communications work package of the Swelife-funded project Swelife-ATMP. From the outset, the ambition was to create a joint platform serving the entire Swedish ATMP ecosystem rather than a single initiative, enabling more effective use of shared knowledge and resources across academia, healthcare, industry, and the public sector.

To facilitate a space for the collective knowledge, materials and resources for the platform’s partners and stakeholders, the atmpsweden.se website was created. The concept for the annual national conference was developed together with the Centre for Advanced Medicinal Products (CAMP), the only other national ATMP initiative at the time.

Since its inception, the ATMP Sweden platform has hosted eight physical and virtual conferences, the ATMP World Tour webinar series, and a range of other events.

The ATMP Sweden Association

The ATMP Sweden Association

The platform’s sustainability was secured in 2023, when Föreningen ATMP Sweden -The ATMP Sweden Association, was formally established as a non-profit legal entity to maintain stewardship of ATMP Sweden. This transition ensured the long-term sustainability of the platform, which had previously been supported by national initiatives such as Swelife-ATMP and ATMP2030. Today, the association’s operations and activities are supported by the engagement of its members.
