apheresis [ENGLISH]

Process by which donor whole blood is withdrawn, specific blood components such as plasma, platelets and stem cells are removed and the remaining blood components are often, but not always, transfused directly back into the donor’s bloodstream.

aferes [SWEDISH]

Process genom vilken givarens helblod tappas, specifika blodkomponenter såsom plasma, trombocyter och stamceller avlägsnas och de återstående blodkomponenterna transfunderas ofta, men inte alltid, direkt tillbaka till givarens blodomlopp.
