Complex collection of more than 200 genes in humans that encode for glycoproteins residing on the cell surface, which assist immune recognition.

Antigener (Human Leukocyte Antigens) bestämda av leukocytplatserna på kromosom 6, kodningsstället för MHC ("major histocompatibility complex") hos människor. De är polypeptider eller glykoproteiner som återfinns på de flesta kärnförsedda celler och blodplättar, bestämmer vävnadstyp i samband med transplantation, och är förknippade med vissa sjukdomar.
