Aiming to strengthen conditions for ATMP commercialization in Skåne-Blekinge by establishing testing environments and connecting researchers and startups with the skills, networks, and capital they need.

The ATMP Path2Patient project aims to provide academia, healthcare, and the business-promoting innovation ecosystem in Skåne-Blekinge with better conditions to support the commercialization of ATMPs. This will be achieved by creating new testing and demonstration environments and making these and other important resources, such as the right skills, networks, and capital, available to researchers and startups working in the ATMP field.

The long-term goal is to sustainably increase the number of company establishments, increase the translation of cutting-edge research, and accelerate the speed at which potentially curative ATMP treatments reach more patients with significant medical needs. To achieve the necessary systems thinking, partners will work together to increase their knowledge of the challenges and opportunities in the ATMP field. Within the framework of the project, relevant networks will also be built and new processes, methods, and tools will be developed and implemented in new testing and innovation environments, such as the Lund University’s Pre-GMP Facility.

ATMP Path2Patient is led by Lund University’s innovation office, LU Innovation, and is being carried out in collaboration with SmiLe Venture Hub, Medicon Village Innovation, the Pre-GMP facility at Lund University (LU-ATMP), and Region Skåne’s ATMP center.
