SCALE

An ATMP skills and collaboration center.

SCALE is a virtual skills and collaboration center being established as part of a regional initiative in Gothenburg focused on ATMP workforce development. The initiative is backed by 26.7 MSEK in funding from the European Union and Region Västra Götaland (VGR), and its project partners include Sahlgrenska Science Park, CCRM Nordic, the University of Gothenburg, Chalmers University of Technology, and Sahlgrenska University Hospital.

During the project period, SCALE will focus primarily on the skills needs of budding entrepreneurs and SMEs and facilitating regional cross-sector collaboration. An online platform to support these activities is currently under development, and new interactive training courses are being developed and offered free of charge to SMEs in VGR.

The intention is for SCALE to continue operating beyond the current project deadline of February 2028, with a national and potentially Nordic focus. The overarching goal of SCALE is to strengthen the ATMP industry by advancing and sharing knowledge and expertise.

Coordinator

The initiative is coordinated by CCRM Nordic, a national not-for-profit organization that supports academics and companies who develop advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMP) to translate research and early-stage clinical programs into treatments for patients.
