hospital exemption [ENGLISH]

Mechanism by which European Union member states are allowed to permit the use of advanced therapy medicinal products (ATMPs) without the need for marketing authorization under certain circumstances, provided the ATMPs are custom-made and used in a hospital setting for an individual patient following prescription of the ATMP by a physician.

Ett läkemedel för avancerad terapi såsom det definieras i artikel 2 i Europaparlamentets och rådets förordning (EG) nr 1394/2007 av den 13 november 2007 om läkemedel för avancerad terapi och om ändring av direktiv 2001/83/EG och förordning (EG) nr 726/2004, i den ursprungliga lydelsen, som - framställs i Sverige enligt ett icke-rutinmässigt förfarande, - är en specialanpassad produkt för en enskild patient i enlighet med en läkares förskrivning, och - används här i landet på sjukhus.
