Ratio of the count of infectious agents, such as viruses or bacteria, to infection targets, such as host target cells. when referring to a group of cells inoculated with virus particles, the MOI is the ratio of the number of virus particles to the number of target cells present in a defined space.

Kvoten mellan antalet infektiösa agens, t.ex. virus eller bakterier, och antalet infektionsmål, t.ex. värdmålceller. När MOI avser en grupp celler som inokulerats med viruspartiklar, är MOI förhållandet mellan antalet viruspartiklar och antalet målceller som finns i ett definierat utrymme.
